100% Recovery from Injury with Physiotherapy

As I write this piece of text that might guide thousands of people towards a safe path to recovery, only I know how this has been possible. Like any other youngster, even I’m a soccer fanatic who likes playing soccer a couple of hours every day. It was during one such session of this 90 minute sport that I volunteered to be the goalkeeper, and within a couple of minutes ended up with a sports injury, in the form of a broken hand! The opposition team’s penalty was too quick for me to react. I just put a hand carelessly and due to poor technique, I ended up injuring my flex and related muscles so severely that playing for another year or so was ruled out totally by my doctor.

One of my friends who’d been injured the previous year strongly recommended me to go in for Physiotherapy. A specialized branch of medical sciences, it is the practice of healing your injured muscles and joints by following some exercises. Physiotherapy has its roots in ancient times when there were local doctors, also known as vaid in the world’s oldest known language Sanskrit, who treated queues of people of all their medical conditions. These conditions included bone dislocation, severe chronic back pain; neck pains so problematic that even sleeping at night caused pain.

All thanks to the rapid advancements in the field of medical sciences, physiotherapy is a properly designed practice that offers patients 100% recovery from any form of injury. Since a couple of years, players suffering from sports injury simply cannot do without a physiotherapist. Every sport team, however big or small, national or local has a fleet of well trained physiotherapists with them that look after the team. The physiotherapists are present even while the game is on, because if there’s any sign of injury to any of their players, they rush to the field and look after the players.

The benefits of getting treated by a physiotherapist are innumerable. Here’s listing down some of the important ones:

·         Specialized treatment: While other forms of medical practice have similar medicines for a wide range of muscle and joint problems, physiotherapists prescribe specialized treatment according to your specific condition. Thus, a knee injury treatment will be different from a neck pain treatment! But in any case, both will be highly effective.

·         Quick recovery: The time taken to recover by following exercises prescribed by a physiotherapist is really quick. The exercises really strengthen your muscles right from its root. This ensures that you don’t injure your muscles frequently while playing.

·         Full and final treatment: Popping pain killers will only drown the pain. They won’t strengthen your muscles, nor will give it any endurance. Due to this, there’s a great chance of pain arising out of that muscle even at the slightest provocation. But by undergoing a complete physio treatment, you can recover completely from the injury and make your muscles how they were before your injury.

Go ahead and try it out!
